The Plymouth/Dodge Neon, sold in Europe, Mexico, Canada, and elsewhere outside the United States as the Chrysler Neon, is a compact front wheel drive car introduced in January 1994 for the 1995 model year by Chrysler Corporation’s Dodge and Plymouth brands. It was branded as a Chrysler model in Japan, Europe, and Australia (where it was the first car to be sold as a Chrysler since 1981) export markets, as well as in Mexico, Canada, and Egypt. It replaced the Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance & Duster models and the Dodge & Plymouth Colt. The two-door model also replaced the Plymouth Laser in Plymouth’s lineup. The Neon was offered in multiple versions and configurations over its production life, which ended on September 23, 2005.

The Kia Sedona may not be the first name you think of when shopping for a minivan, but it’s definitely been one that should be considered. Right out of the gate, the Sedona had almost everything needed to be a success in the minivan segment, but it was pudgy, weighing some 400-700 pounds more than its rivals, which blunted acceleration at higher speeds and didn’t do much for cornering ability. Still, overall performance was relatively refined, if not exciting.

The Daewoo Lanos is a subcompact car manufactured by the Korean automaker Daewoo Motor from 1997 to 2002. It was manufactured under license agreements from 1997 to 2008 by Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) in Poland, where it was marketed as the FSO Lanos, from 1998 to present in Ukraine by AvtoZAZ, with modified versions known as Daewoo Sens and Chevrolet Lanos, since 1998 in Egypt by Daewoo Motors Egypt, and by Vietnamese company VIDAMCO between 2000 and 2006. The Chevrolet Lanos is also manufactured in parallel by General Motors Egypt since November 2008.

The vehicle’s design was inspired by the mid-1940s Chevrolet cars and trucks, specifically the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, with large, square fender flares and a hemispherical grille. The design of the HHR has been credited to Bryan Nesbitt who was a former designer at Chrysler where he was the lead designer of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Nesbitt was recruited by GM to join its design staff and served for a time as the chief designer of the Chevrolet brand. The HHR had a cargo-carrying capacity of 62.7 cubic feet (1.78 m3). All models had a flat-load floor (passenger models have 60/40 split bench) and fold-flat front passenger seat. For the 2007 model year, it was available in four trim levels; LS, LT, 2LT, and Special Edition. A panel van variant was also made available in 2007 for only the LT trim and became available on all trim levels in 2008.

The Dodge Stratus (and its twins, the Chrysler Cirrus and Plymouth Breeze; collectively known as the “Cloud Cars”) was a mid-size 4-door sedan introduced in 1995. It was based on the Chrysler JA platform Cab forward (car). The Stratus, Breeze, and Cirrus were all on Car and Driver magazine’s Ten Best list for 1996 and 1997. It received critical acclaim at launch, but ratings fell over time. Production ended at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in early 2006 which had built 1,308,123 Stratus and Sebrings since 2000. The Dodge Avenger replaced the Stratus nameplate in early 2007 for the 2008 model year.

The Jeep Liberty (KJ/KK), or Jeep Cherokee (KJ/KK) outside North America, is a compact SUV produced by the Jeep marque of Chrysler. Introduced for the 2002 model year as a replacement for the Cherokee (XJ), the Liberty was priced between the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. It was the smallest of the 4-door Jeep SUVs up until the car based 4-door Compass and Patriot arrived for 2007. The Liberty featured a unibody-on-ladder-frame construction, which added stiffness to its ride and handling, and enhanced its off-road capabilities. It is assembled at the Toledo North Assembly Plant in the United States, as well as in other countries including Egypt and Venezuela. Current estimates by Jeep are that 70% of Liberty buyers are new to the marque.

The Infiniti Q45 was a full-size luxury car sold by Nissan’s Infiniti marque from 1990 until 2006. It is a rear wheel drive, four door sedan powered by a V8 engine. Early generations were based on the automaker’s Japanese-market flagship sedan, the Nissan President, while models produced after 1997 were based on the slightly smaller Nissan Cima. Exports of the Q45 ceased after 2006, but the Cima continued to be sold domestically until August 2010, when production of both the Cima and President ended. The Q45 competed directly with the Lexus LS, as well as the higher-priced BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The Buick Lucerne is a full-size car sold by the Buick division of General Motors. Introduced at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, the Lucerne replaced both the Park Avenue and the LeSabre for the 2006 model year, and was sold through the 2011 model year. The Lucerne rode on a revised H-body platform, which it shared with the late Pontiac Bonneville.
The Buick Lucerne earns a “Good” overall score in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) front impact test, and an “Acceptable” score in the side impact test.
